Appearance:

Dark head and forebody grading into light-brown that resembles a braided whip. Adults typically 42 to 60" in length. This may be an introduced species in Kentucky.

Notes:

Eats rodents, snakes, lizards, and small birds. Very fast moving snake. Will vibrate tail when alarmed. Nasty disposition and will readiliy bite.
