Appearance:

Adults can reach up to 5' in length. The head is pointed and somewhat smallish for a snake this size. Look for dark blotches on a yellowish to light gray body.

Notes:

Eats rodents sometimes birds & their eggs. Only found in dry sandy uplands and they spend much time underground. When cornered they will hiss loudly and strike.
